At a thrift shop a few months ago I happened across a couple of box loads of family slides left over from an estate clearance. I have a long history of sharing Found Objects and Found Photos but it never occurred to me that I might purchase a random family's slides en masse. I have a scanner with a slide and negative attachment so -- having made limited use of that feature -- I thought I'd try it out. I did not expect to make such a project of it but something about this endeavor piqued my inner anthropologist, and the next thing I knew I was wandering through the lives of this family, trying to reverse-engineer their lives and who they might have been and what traces of their legacy might survive today. I posted the complete series of scanned slides -- a few too many slides, maybe. Here are a few individual images that I put up for discussion in the hope that someone will recognize some person or some place in these slide and maybe I can re-unite these slides with someone still connected to this family.
